Climbing a tree in the rain to escape a monster had been something like an Adventure, but small boys who have not even had breakfast do not have the patience for much Adventuring, especially when that adventuring is in the rain. He had long ago tired of playing with the see-quins, and had even taken a nap, something he normally hated to do. All that was left was to hold on tightly to Wolf and Blanket--by now quite soggy--and to whoever was taking a turn at carrying him.
